Trial Provision of Loan Service for Campus Dependants

The Institute Library is pleased to announce the provision of loans services to “HKIEd Campus Dependant Members” on a trial basis during the forthcoming summer vacation.  From Monday, 22nd June 2009 to Monday, 31 August 2009, child dependants of HKIEd Regular Staff Members with “Staff Dependant Cards” issued by the Human Resources Office will be entitled to borrowing privileges both at the MMW Library and the Town Centre Library.  Details of the loan quota and loan period applicable to Dependant Members can be found in the table below.  The Library will review this trial service in late August as part of a larger review of its access policies.

Parents are reminded that they should accompany their children under the age of 12 at all times inside the Library.  Since the collection scope of the Institute Library is much broader than those of school libraries and public libraries, parents should also provide guidance to their children on selecting appropriate reading materials from the Institute Library.  Following existing policy, Staff Members will be held responsible for any fines and/or payments caused by overdue of loans, damage or loss of library materials checked out by their dependants.  All library notices will also be sent directly to the Staff Members.

For further details on this trial service, please contact our Circulation Counter at 2948-6658.  For enquiries on the eligibility and application of “Staff Dependant Cards”, please contact the Human Resources Office directly.
