To further enhance our communication with users, the Library has developed an innovative alert service by integrating the mobile phone SMS and Google Calendar™ technologies. After completing three registration steps, HKIEd staff and students will be able to receive simplified versions of important library notices, such as for the availability of requested items, courtesy notices and overdue reminders, via SMS on their mobile phones free of charge. While the SMS messages will serve as quick reminders, the full content of all existing library notices will continue to be sent to staff and students by e-mail.
