University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded undergraduate degree students of all years are eligible for a JULAC Student Reader Card which will be valid for one academic year from 1st August to 31st July of the next year. Prior endorsement by academic staff is not required.
Holders of the JULAC Student Reader Card can register for admission to all the other UGC funded university libraries - namely CityU, CUHK, HKBU, HKU, LU and PolyU – for study and use of their collections in-house. In addition, as HKUST Library adopts an open-door policy, HKIEd students can use their HKIEd student cards to gain access to HKUST Library. An annual $50 registration fee will be charged by each host library.
Please note that this access is for “in-house” use of the collections and study facilities only. However, HKIEd undergraduate students may borrow books from the other UGC libraries by submitting requests online through the HKALL service
JULAC Student Reader Card holders are reminded that some libraries may implement “black-out” periods during their peak seasons. Access to these libraries will be restricted during their “black-out” periods.
For details, please contact the Library Circulation Counter at the Mong Man Wai or Town Centre Libraries, or by phone at 2948-6658.
