The E-Resources Discovery Carnival

To promote the understanding and usage of electronic information resources amongst our staff and students, the Institute Library staged the 2nd “E-Resources Discovery Carnival” on last Friday, 7th November 2008. It was held from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm at the 7 x 24 Learning Centre located on the Ground Floor of the Mong Man Wai Library. Electronic resource vendors exhibited their products and assisted library users to learn more about their e-resources subscribed by the Library.

Over 500 students and staff completed their quizzes and submitted their lucky draw entry forms. By completing their quiz forms, they got an opportunity to familiarize themselves with various kinds of e-resources, including e-databases, e-journals and e-books.

The carnival reached a climax at 3:30pm as hundreds of participants gathered at the 7 x 24 Learning Centre, MMW Library to wait for the final lucky draw. Those who were lucky to win a prize were very happy; for those who did not win a prize also enjoyed the atmosphere, and most importantly, they got to understand more about valuable e-resources which will benefit their studies!
